Hi,
I have written some vba in regular microstation that uses the geographics engine and calculates ground distance using the GetDistance method between two GeoPoint3d points.
I am getting slightly different results when comparing my vba script results to some other software that I suspect is using a close enough is good enough method.
Does anyone have a good description of how GetDistance is calulating the ground distance?
The projection we are using is:The MGA zn50 (Map Grid Australia)
Any help would be much appreciated.

IMHO the help file for Getdistance could be better: someone should clarify it based on this sketch
