2. To let others know the MicroStation release and programming language being used without having to open the thread, please start the subject of your topic/thread with the following convention:

[<release> <update> <language>]

where <release> is:

MicroStation  release Abbreviation Example
MicroStation 2023.0 (or later) 202x.n [MS2023.0 C++], [MS2023.0 C#], [MS2023.0 VBA]
MicroStation CONNECT Edition CONNECT (or CE) Update xx [MSCE U17.2 C++], [MSCE U17.2 C#], [MSCE U17.2 VBA]

and API <language> is one of the following:

  • C# (Managed .NET)
  • C++ (Native C++/C APis)
  • C (Native C APIs)
  • MC (Interpreted C APIs)
  • VBA
  • VB
  • Other

For example, if your inquiry is regarding the MicroStation C++ API in MicroStation 2023.0, your topic/thread should start with:

[2023.1 C++]

CONNECT Edition Update 12, your topic/thread should start with:

[CONNECT Update 12 C++], [CE U12 C++],...

If your inquiry is regarding MicroStation VBA in MicroStation V8i SELECTseries 3, your topic/thread should start with:

[V8i SELECTseries 3 VBA], [V8i SS3 VBA]...

3. If the issue you are encountering is specific to a product version or OS or computer, please include the following in your post:

  • The Bentley Product Version(s) (i.e. v##.##.##.##) you are using -- you can get this through Help > About... or entering VER in Utilities > Key-in
  • The Operating System Version (including service packs) you are using -- you can get that information through Windows Control Panel > System
  • The Basic Hardware Configuration for the workstation you are using (e.g. CPU, RAM, graphics card, etc.)
