I recentely installed MS Office 2010 on my Windows7 64bit system.
I now get the following error when launching BBMS (08.11.07.55)
"Cannot save changes to VBA project 'Support' because it is read-only. Do you want to save the project to a different file?"
I only get this with BBMS, Bentley Architecture, Structural and Electrical are fine.
I get this with both the USACE workspace as well as the OOTB default Workspace
It was working fine before the MS Office 2010 install
I have administrator rights to both my computer and all the network paths MS is accessing.
Any help?
Somewhere in a config file there is a variable set as: MS_VBA_OPEN_IN_MEMORY=ALL. Comment that statement out and your problem should be solved. It goes back to MicroSoft limiting the number of users for accessing an .mvba
Why would this only happen after updating Office from 2003 to 2010?
I'm not sure I can reasonably answer that. I remember it taking some time to dig out the answer when we first had the problem.
I found the variable and commented it out - still get the same error.
I truly believe it's something to do with MS Office 2010 because I have another system, same Window7 64bit, same Bentley versions and same workspace - only difference is MS Office 2003 - and I don't have any errors on that system.
As I mentioned before this error only started occuring after upgrading to MS Office 2010
Any other ideas?
In case anyone else runs into this problem I have found the solution:
The problem is user specific, the install of Office 2010 changed the following file:
C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Forms\MSComctlLib.exd
I replaced this file in my user profile from another working user profile and fixed the problem.
I have found this also solves a similar problem for BBMS users running Trane Trace.
