you should use PropertyHandler object. See MicroStation VBA help file for PropertyHandler description, there are also several examples (code snippets) using PropertyHandler available in help file.

        Set oPH = CreatePropertyHandler(oElEnum.Current)
        oPH.SelectByAccessString ("CONTOURELE")
        Debug.Print oPH.GetValue

Thanks for the confirmation it works :-)

Be aware an access string is not always the same as property name displayed in MicroStation dialog (typically some characters in the access string are replaced because are not allowed). In such case you have to use GetAccessStrings method and to check the result list for the correct "internal" string.
