Hi guys,
I am trying to find an old mdl app.
I believe it is called hide_new.ma
It used to be hide.ma however there is a newer version of it which is called hide_new.ma.
Does anyone know where to find this.
Thanks in advance.
Hi and welcome to the community. As you know the Microstation V7(J) era is ago. And if you don't have a glue about the source of this MDL app, it would be hard to find, anyway. Maybe you may describe what you like to archive, so we may help with some kind of workaround. And tell us why do you stuck with such old version.
Regards
Frank

A web search reveals no information about hide.ma or hide_new.ma. Have you any idea who created that app.?

And have in mind the terms in V8 Microstations for "hiding" levels
are:
even there is a "Level Lock switch" if you have something in mind, to lock Levels for changing.
Hi CD1
If all you are looking to do is turn the display of levels on/off in your Active and Referenced files, I would just use the Level Display dialog. That dialog can be customized to very look similar to the V7 Level display dialog. You just have to turn On the Numbers instead of the Names and set it to look the way you want using the . It also has Rt Click options "All On", All Off, Off by tagging Element, All off except tagged Element 's level and more.
Is there something it does not have, and you need?

Have a look at the Ask Inga Wiki about levels. The column on the left lets you choose between several items concerning the levels. http://communities.bentley.com/communities/other_communities/askinga/w/askinga/level

I remember using Hide, nothing has succeeded it in terms of flexibility. I ran it off a function key. It worked like off by element, but had an undo switch and ran independent inside Mstn. You could click on a level, use an infinite number of Mstn commands, click on the Hide dialog box and undo the levels originally turned off. Also kept a sequence of levels turned off by continuing to click Hide or Undo. It was a great MDL, Hide.ma (I never saw HIde_new.ma) worked also worked with v8i (I checked that when my company transitioned to v8i several years ago), must better workflow that Off By Element. It would stay active until you turned it off, and didn't get in the way of production.
