Not sure this will work, or better don't expect it to work directly, as CTRL+G creates an unnamed (orphan) cell and even pseudocells need a name to be identified. So at least you have to provide a Name for the newly created group/cell. see the remarks for mdlCell_setName() to asure you create it the right way !
