Hi,
Where may I download Microstation SDK for Microstation Connect Edition Update 6?
I don't find any link of any SDK in Software Download page.
Thanks for help.
Best Regards,
Jean-Claude
Hi Jean-Claud,
MicroStation SDK is available for download at Fullfilment center.
With regards,

Hi Jan, I didn't find it there, only Microstation Software Download.
We have Select Subscription but not BDN. May it be the reason? Does Bentley recently have changed Select members download rights?
Thanks
Regards,
I assume it depends on your access rights. I recommend to check them with your Site Admin.
I am not a member of the BDN, and I am a Site Admin for my company. I can no longer see the SDK's either.
I think Jean-Claude is correct in that now only BDN members have access to the SDK downloads.

It seems like the confirmation Bentley has changed the rules and access rights for MicroStation SDK. But I don't recall any such information.
I am not quite sure whether SELECT BDN as a part of SELECT Agreement is still available? ... as commercial BDN member I don't check these options too closely.
So is not possible to get something as free SDK for non-commercial use? Eventually how much it costs. Users without BDN can use only VBA?

Hi Petr,

I remember there was BDN SELECT program as a free extension of Bentley SELECT program. But I have not found any information on Bentley web, so to contact Bentley directly is probably the best solution.
I am aware it's (it was) not "free option", but "free fof SELECT users".

In MicroStation V8i, you can use also NET (C#, VB.NET etc.) without SDK, because NET API is based on COM Interop, which means APIs are quite the same. And NET only features (a structure of addin class, command table, WinForm integration etc.) are not described in SDK documentation, so to study existing examples and discussions (and presentations from BDN conferences, alternatively) is necessary.
CONNECT Edition is different, because it offers new and pretty rich "real NET API", where the documentation is a part of SDK. Without it, I don't believe it's possible to understand how API works. But still no libs or extra tools are necessary for the most of the tasks, because assemblies are part of MicroStation installation.
In fact the only language, where SDK is mandatory, is native C/C++ code, because header files (.h, .fdf) and libraries (.lib) plus necessary tools (bmake, resouce files compiler...) are delivered only with SDK and not with MicroStation itself.
Hello all,
I didn't find MicroStation SDK in Software Download.
I'm member of BDN and Co.admin in SELECT but same same result.
Thanks.
