Does anyone know what version of browser the userform webbrowser is using or a way to load any url I load into it? I have a userform with a webbrowser to launch a specific url from a sharepoint site that is not loading. It looks like the sharepoint site is stating:
Error details: Error: ***This page does not support Internet Explorer releases older than version 10. Please update your web browser.
Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

The widow can open pretty much any url I throw at it except for the sharepoint site. It is the new sharepoint site if that helps. Am I missing something for the webbrowser to load the page?
Hi Mark,
(To me) It is unclear if "userform webbrowser" is referring to a Bentley product feature, or Microsoft ActiveX control. Could you point us to the exact steps used along with product name and version so we can try to identify what type of problem you are having and provide additional recommendations?
Thank you,Bob
I am running MicroStation CONNECT Update 10.
I hope I answer this correctly...
The userform is loaded at the start of the MicroStation session and tells the webbrowser what url to load. In this case, I am experimenting with sharepoint Online to call the url to show notifications to users directly in MicroStation.
the webbrowser on the userform is a control, Microsoft Web Browser.

From Internet it seems that it's based on IE 7, but probably the only way how to be sure is to detect what is sent to web server.

Yes, the problem is quite clear: The server (or the page specifically) check the version of the browser because of compatibility (because all old browsers, IE especially, are very incompatible).

No, the problem is that you use old unsupported technology (WebBrowser component), that is not based on latest engine(s) (Edge, webkit etc.).
In my opinion the only solution is to try to find another ActiveX component with web browser functionality, but based on current technologies. But I have no idea whether such component exists.

This may be because of Microsoft security concerns. For example, see this article Cannot insert certain scriptable ActiveX controls into Office 2013 documents.
Applies to: SharePoint Server 2013

Thank you (and Jon and Jan) for expanding on the problem and providing some additional details needed.
Based on the Microsoft WebBrowser control, (almost now legacy) IE client support by web servers (IT and security policies, etc.) Microsoft provides update/upgrade recommendations to replace with the Microsoft WebView control in the Microsoft Edge Platform FAQs: "Does the WebBrowser control work with Microsoft Edge?"

It's good finding, but unfortunately it seems it does not support VBA through ActiveX / OCX / <whatever> reference. I tried to search more information how to use it and it seems it's primarily designed for Universal Windows Platform plus C# / NET, but not other environment.
