Hello,
Like to choose a DataGroup Catalog Item from the Dataset, like in “Instance add”
In the delivered samples are only cases to change an existing DataGroup instance, if you know already the name of the catalog and of the item.
I could read the XML-files by myself, but I guess this would be unnecessary extra work.
Is there a sample, How I could rebuild the functionality of this toolsetting-dialog?
Tanks!

By far the easiest way to read XML programmatically is using .NET XElement, also known as LINQ to XML. And by far the easiest way to experiment with that is to use LINQpad.
XElement

Thanks Jon,
But the problem is not to read and interpret the xml-files. (I have to do this in native, because I need the results there later)
The problem is, this would be a weak solution.
And I guess, all this things have been done by someone else already at Bentley.
It is just, I do not think it is effective to event the wheel over and over again :-)
In the sample you find passages like: "_catalogInstanceName = L"x_Single Flush Panel";" or "ModifyDoorTool (L"Door");". And no hind why these magical keywords fall out off the sky.

I agree. The APIs of the vertical Bentley apps. could be improved. But, unless more people use those APIs and comment about them, Bentley have no incentive to develop them further. Catch-22!
