Is microstation v7 compatible with windows 10?
Hi Sujit,
I guess the product compatibility should be discussed in Product administration forum. On the other hand, it can be answered quickly ;-)
Accordingly to Bentley's product support page, the answer is NO, MicroStation/J is not supported at all. It means there is no official certification for Windows 10 done, so the compatibility is not ensured. It makes sense, because at the time when MicroStation/J was released, there were I guess Windows 98 and Windows NT available.
On the other hand, when you will install and start MicroStation/J in Windows 10, it will probably work fine (maybe some Windows configuration tweaking will be necessary) ... but without any technical support provided from Bentley. My experience is that old MicroStation versions usually run fine with newer Windows, the only exception is printing, because it has changed rapidly both in MicroStation and in Windows.
With regards,
Jan

This issue is not about whether MicroStaion/J is compatible with Windows 10 or not!
Microsoft does not support hlp format for years and "hlp reader" is not part of Windows 10 for this reason. I recommend to seach Internet, there are quite a lot of advices available how to work with hlp documents in Windows 10 environment (e.g. this one).

That's a different question. Over the years, Microsoft has invented new help systems and discarded old ones. I think that the .hlp format was dropped by Microsoft several operating system updates ago.
.hlp
Search the web for information about that format. There may be a viewer that you can install for Windows 10.

Thanks Jan for your reply.
We are running V7 on Windows 10 (because we use Intergraph/Hexagon PDS software). Had some issue with DEP settings initially, but once we "allowed" the executable to load/run, things are "fine".....
