I have a drawing with streets, street names, buildings, and pipes. I have a user who'd like to quickly query a street name and have the ability to zoom to any text node with a text string associated with that street name.
I know this can be achieved with advanced search with the Explore tool. I'm just trying to brainstorm a way the user could do this more easily by just hitting a button on the ribbon and open a prompt to enter a search term with a pre-loaded query. The idea would be that the query is already targeting the proper level and property. So the preloaded query would be something like:
Search for items of type "Text"
where Level is equal to 'Road Names' AND
where Text String is like "%user defined%"
After entering the street name the user would be provided with a list of results, which would be elements associated with the query.
I'm sure this is already an out of the box tool in OpenCities Map but we won't be using that.
I'm more or less wondering if something like this is even possible. Thanks for any feedback or guidance you have.

If you're prepared to write code, then take a look at this VBA tool for Text Search and Replace...
It's freeware, and source code is included. You could add your requirement for levels to that dialog, and remove the stuff that replaces text content.
The results dialog shows what it found, and provides a Locate button...

Hey Jon,
I have it up and running. This is exactly what I needed for a user here that isn't very proficient with computers. It makes navigating our drawing a lot easier for him.
I can't thank you enough!!
Thanks,
