Hi,
I am interested to know if there is a way to save your user profile and then use the same on another computer.
Regards
Lochlan
Hi Jon,I am using Connect version 15.
The reason I had posted it on the program forum is because someone on of the blogs had written a macro to save the user profile and run the same when you use another computer, this helps save time in setting up your user preferences. Do you have a problem because it was posted in this forum??
Is the user profile transferrable to another computer when using Microstation?

Can you share a link to this blog?

Unfortunately, you did not answer Jon's question: What do you mean by "user profile"?
Such term does not exist in MicroStation, only "user preferences", which you use too. The "user profile" is typically used for a set of a user related information, identifying you when you logged to this web and other Bentley services with your login.

There is no such thing like "user profile" and you should better define what setting you want to transfer to another computer.
There are many files that somehow relate to "a user":

When we will talk about user preferences, specifically .upf file, I think it's not recommended to copy it 1:1 to another computer, because it's binary file, created always in a context of MicroStation installation (Windows version, hardware configuration etc.). The same rule can be applied to other file, created by MicroStation in pref folder.
When you want to define a set of standard settings (e.g. as company standard, but the same approach can be used to transfer upf and other files to another computer), you can set the files as seed files, so MicroStation will use them as templates. See this wiki article for more details.

I think Jon has not any problem, but also in this point, you did not bother to answer Jon's question, why do you choose this forum. This forum is dedicated to writing macros and applications for MicroStation. Your question belongs more to product administration area and is not about that you experienced a problem with your own code.
I recommend to move your question to Product administration forum. To move existing discussion to another forum, use More > Move tool available under your original post.
With regards,
Jan
