Hi Team.
Is there a way to query individual dgn files programmatically and extract the file properties? As seen when you're in MS and select FILE / Properties.I'm interested in extracting the General properties as well as the Statistics.
I want to run the process of export/extraction on a bunch of files and export to .csv if possible.

Do you want to extract the information outside MicroStation (with no product installed) or is it fine to use e.g. Batch Process to let MicroStation iterate the files?

Hi Jan.
I don't mind with or without a product installed. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, for sure.

It would be nice to share e.g. the dialog picture or to list what properties you are interested in, because without starting MicroStation and to check what properties are General and what are treated as statistics, it's not clear (and technically there are some differences).

In MicroStation, even simple VBA can be used. Many properties are available directly at DesignFile object. And there are two examples available in MicroStation VBA help: Design File Properties and Design File Properties Example, demonstrating how to access properties directly and using PropertiesHandler.
P.S. In future, please follow the best practices, especially how mandatory information (product, version...) should be shared through standardized subject format, because it make discussions simpler.
