Microstation VBA -Begineer

Hi,

please always specify not only used product, but also its version. Although MicroStation VBA does not change too much between versions, differences exist e.g. between VBA in V8 204 Edition and in current CONNECT Edition. See the best practices how to share this information using standard subject format.

To learn MicroStation VBA, some prerequisties must be fulfilled:

• MicroStation knowledge at least on general user level. It's impossible to use MicroStation VBA API without understanding basic concept and terminology (file, model, elements, tools, GUI...).
• To know Microsoft VBA as language is the second requirement, because MicroStation VBA is an extension (specialized API) for VBA language.

When both VBA and MicroStation knowledge exist, you can start with MicroStation VBA.

Are you aware V8i is not supported version now? Although plenty of concepts remain the same in current CONNECT Edition, e.g. GUI and some administration tasks are very different, so learning V8i now sounds like not good investment.

There are plenty of sources. Did you try to use search on this web or to search Internet? Check MicroStation community for information (especially MicroStation wiki), there is also YouTube channel available, plus videos on Bentley Learn server.
