That dll is built during the VBA build process from the mdlbltin library.  Which is the core library that is documented in the MicroStation Function Reference Manual.  It is simply std wrappers on the mdl api (we use cdecl by default which is not what VBA wants).  It is only relavent to VBA/COM developers while running inside of MicroStation.

I've used the "mdlSystem_getTaskStatistics" function successfully in the past and have read posts that mention other functions such as "mdlDialog_find".

1.  What other properties, methods, and functions are provided by the "stdmdlbltin.dll"?

1.1.  Where would I obtain a "MicroStation Function Reference Manual"?  What else does this manual have in it?

2.  Is there anything that would list a dialog box name?

(I believe this might be called an ID but when I've used it I use meaningful characters and not numbers.)

The way you've phrased your question implies that you are writing VBA.  Can you confirm that; if otherwise, what language do you prefer?

Yes, VBA.  I'm assuming all other languages would be used external to Microstation as "Thrid Party" add-ins of some type?

I think what you're asking is, "How do I know what MDL functions are available to a VBA developer?"

The answer is in the MDL Function Reference Manual.  That manual is delivered with the MicroStation Software Developer Kit (SDK).  The SDK is provided by Bentley Systems as a separate download to MicroStation.  There is an SDK for each version of MicroStation.

There are more functions than those in stdmdlbltin.dll; there are a number of other DLLs delivered with MicroStation.

The MDL Function Reference Manual documents each MDL function and provides the VBA declaration that you must use.

The MicroStation SDK is a Bentley Systems product.  It is available to SELECT subscribers in the usual way.

As I noted in a previous post, the MDL Function Reference Manual is delivered with the SDK.  It's possible that it's available from the Bentley Systems website.  Much of their documentation is available in PDF, HTML Help or other format.

To add to what Jon quite accurately mentions, the CHM documentation files included with the MicroStation SDK can also be obtained individually from docs.bentley.com/product.php. Still, the preferred method of obtaining these files is to download and install the MicroStation SDK from SELECTservices Online.
