Hello,
We often found painful to export a 3D model (with many references) to DWG: it creates multiples files, levels displays are not always honored etc...
Is it possible to create a macro that will save the content of a fence into a SINGLE DWG, with the levels display as the screen ?
Any help will be appreciated..
Thanks

This is a multi-stage process. Using VBA you should...

I was thinking to use the File/ Export DWG command but i have problems to
adjust the differents parameters ( External references merged to cell, geometry: fence, fence:clip, etc...)
My goal is to easily export the 3D geometry within a fence - just Export What I See on the Screen.
You don't need macro.
In the "save as" dialog You have to click "options". In the options dialog activate the "Filter" tab. There, in the "Geometry" drop down, choose "Fence" (only possible if a fence exists). Go on and save the file in choosen format.
A shorter way is the key-in "ff=". But it saves the fence contents into a new file of SAME format as active file.

ok you can create a keyin script or a macro that prompts user to place fence
then it fence files contents to a prompt then it will open the same file and export to Dwg then delete the merged dgn
you might be able to create a record macro to do this basically then edit it to get it to work with all files
my thoughts would be to use a generic name like merged.dgn and alway have it go to c:\temp\out

If the command does what you want, then use the command. Resort to writing a macro when you can't persuade the standard tools to do what you want.
