Microstation - PowerInroads V8i SS3 - C# Addin Development

Is it possible to utilize the Bentley Civil SS3 OpenRoads features in any addin development platform?  I am new to Bently software in general, but I am very excited about the direction the Civil software is going with the OpenRoads technology.  I have PowerInroads and recently added the SS3 installation alongside the SS2.  I noticed the Inroads SDK API's have been reduced by the functions now present in OpenRoads.  I have not been able to locate any information on where or how to utilize the new OpenRoads functionality in any development environment.  Thanks in advance.

IMHO the openroads tec is still in an early stage... so we have to wait what SDK API's functions gets available in future.

  • I just came across "Bentley Civil SDK.pdf" as well as a sample C# solution (C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Civil\SDK Examples\8.11.9\en\Reports).  This is exactly the type of resource I'm looking for, but there's no reference documentation, just a few examples.  The pdf specifically references 8.11.9, but nothing about OpenRoads.  I haven't tried, but it looks like you can include build against the Bentley.Civil assemblies for addin development.  Any thoughts??

  • In case anyone else is looking for Civil SDK, the latest InRoads release (08.11.09.722) ships with a "Bentley.Civil.3.0.chm"  help file which covers the civil assemblies and namespaces.  The "Benltey Civil SDK.pdf" has also been revised to provide a thorough walkthrough for getting your solution set up with the right references and .net versions.  It's really good stuff.
