Hello Folks,
I am trying to use a Key-In to run a .txt file that contains Key-In commands in ORD-CE while in PW and we need to use a variable for the location of the .txt file.
Outside of PW this has worked using this Key-In: "$ @$(_GDOT_WORKSPACE_PATH)/DGNUtil/02Index_ORD-CE_Default.txt".
This Key-In should work inside of PW too since the variable is the same, but it doesn't. I have also tried the direct address Key- In too: "@pw://gdot-go-pwis11.gdot.ad.local:ProjectWise/Documents/Standards/Workspace/GDOT_CE/Organization-Civil/GDOT_Standards/DGNUtil/02Index_ORD-CE_Default.txt", but that too does not work either. I have also tried backslashes (\) too. Does anyone have any suggestions?
ORD-CE v.10.08.01.33
PW v. 10.00.03.49
Thank you for any assistance you can offer.
Merry CHRISTmas,
David
Hi David,
I do the same thing and it works fine for me. I think you need a variable in your cfg that defines the direct folder of your script file as PW will be putting each subdirectory into it's own separate bms folder.
I know the RF= and RD= keyins work with the full PW paths themselves, but I think the script keyin needs the actual local path (which the variable will provide).

Mark

Hi Mark,
Thank you for responding. You reminded me about this posting and that I hadn’t posted the answer I found.
You are correct. I Needed to add a Configuration Variable that points directly to the folder location. I had to add it to a Configuration Block in PW and to a Configuration File for the network drive. Here is what I used for the Configuration Variable:
For the network:
# MS_DGNUtil - points to .txt to set Levels per Section and Model
MS_DGNUtil = $(CIVIL_ORGANIZATION_STANDARDS)DGNUtil/*.txt
For PW:
# MS_DGNUtil - points to the folder containing the .txt file that sets the Levels per Section and Model
MS_DGNUtil = $(CIVIL_ORGANIZATION_STANDARDS)DGNUtil/
In MicroStation, Use the following Key-In for both locations:
$ @$(MS_DGNUtil)”Name of the text file”.txt
