Updating your scheduled DCS jobs to run on iCS

With the new ProjectWise SS4 Refresh Bentley Dynamic Composition Server (DCS) has been renamed to Bentley i-model Composition Server for PDF (iCS).  One of the problems of updating from DCS to iCS is that if you had any scheduled jobs with DCS they will no longer work with iCS.  The reason behind this is that the argument field in the old DCS scheduled job has changed.  Fortunately we do have a workaround for this and it is attached to this blog in a powershell script.  What this will do is update this argument field so that all of your old scheduled DCS jobs will now run with iCS. 

Steps to update your jobs after you have upgraded your DCS to iCS:

1. Copy the attached PowerShell script to your DCS/iCS server.  
2. Rename the script from dcs_to_ics_job_edit.ps1.txt to dcs_to_ics_job_edit.ps1
3. Open the PowerShell script with Notepad.
4. You will want to edit the $User and $password fields to be the Windows user that you want to run the scheduled jobs as.  This is important as if you do not enter this it will clear all of your scheduled jobs in Task Scheduler.
5. Save and close the PowerShell script.
6. Run the PowerShell script as Administrator.  If you get an error about execution of scripts being disabled, please open the PowerShell script in notepad and there are instructions at the top to allow unsigned scripts.
