we are trying to search 100's of PDF's to be moved to different folder and trying to find them using search builder so we can find all in PW and move.
WE have following criteria
Look for : Documents
Criteria Type: General properties
Property: File Name
Value: 1.pdf or 2.pdf or 3.pdf or 4.pdf or 5.pdf or 6.pdf etc
This does not work. does anyone has any solution?
If that turns out to be "too many" tabs to create, try the technique described here:
You could use a custom expression like this:
$FIELD$ LIKE '%1.pdf' OR $FIELD$ LIKE '%2.pdf' OR $FIELD$ LIKE '%3.pdf'
Which would look like this in the search builder form:

Thank you for the information. We had a similar request. I tried the TAB in the search form but that does not seem to work. Is it as of a certain version of PWE ? Also tried a notepad abc* 123* separetaed by a tab in notepad and paste that in the search. Does not work either. Is it maybe a chr$ to use ?
I checked but we do not ssem to have access to the SDK, I think you need to be a BDN for that. And we are "just" users.
Are 1.pdf, 2.pdf, etc... the actual names or just examples? Would searching on all PDFs with *.pdf then sorting by name be sufficient to find them, then move them from the search window to the appropriate folder?
Thank you Kevin, but that is not the case, we want an xls sheet to feed the search. Let's say row 1 contains "abc.dgn" row 2 "123.dwg" and row 3 "xyz.pdf". Instead of searching document per document I would like to paste a list in the search in order to search in different folders and subfolders to find where each file is stored in PW, and result in a new window. The "OR" option does not help much either. thank you for any help/ ideas
You might want to write a PowerShell script taking input search criteria from and excel and giving you location in corresponding row. You can also add further operations in the script in case you need to move them to somewhere based on certain logic.
