A number of my colleagues have had this issue for some time. It is incredibly tedious and wastes a lot of time. I was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem?
I am unable to open an Excel document on my ProjectWise Explorer if I already have any other Excel documents open on my desktop. To open a Excel document I must close all other Excel tabs prior to opening on ProjectWise.
Appreciate any help I can get.
What version of PW Explorer and what version of Office? The version that was just released this week (10,00,03,167) has some fixes in it for our Office integration. I recommend trying that version of PW Explorer to see if the issue still exists.
Thanks Phil. My PW Explorer has not been updated to this version. How would I go about doing so? In my companies software download centre it only has the older version I currently have.

We have PW 10.00.02.320 and have frequently yhe same problem. Usually one of the Excel documents turns out to be an .xls file. To open several .xlsx files is no problem, but whenever a .xls file is opened, Excel gets stuck and will not open a second file (regardless the extension).
Also, after closing Excel (sometimes also with Word), Windows might still have the EXCEL.EXE or WINWORD.EXE process running, although nothing is visible in the tast bar. The processes can be closed manually in the Task manager or will disappear when waiting long enough...
Hi, i am using PW CE version 03.167 and it unfortunately still exhibits this problem with Excel and Word (365 At least).
It is a very frustrating issue. Would uninstalling the Office integration module resolve it?
