Running ICS for PDF 10.00.03.140
I have a drawing in ProjectWise has tags (example tag = "AAA") that are normally updated by Attribute Exchange whenever the document is opened. If the value of the attribute is changed ("BBB") in the ProjectWise document properties, then a rendition created, the resulting rendition displays the old value of the attribute ("AAA"). In other words, it is not automatically updated. If the document is checked out, a "Saved Settings" performed, and checked back in, a new rendition will display the correct attribute value ("AAA").
We expect the rendition to display the current values of its ProjectWise attributes even if the drawings do not have a "Save Settings" manually performed after the change.
Is there an environment variable that controls this? Any other options, or is this just a bug.
Is the title block in a reference? By default, iCS for PDF does not perform attribute exchange inside references, to avoid problems with concurrent extractors. Best practice is for title blocks to be in the master DGN.
.
Our border is a reference attachment. It contains "sheet tags" and "project tags". Sheet tags are copied into the master file for the specific sheet. Project tags are displayed from the reference attachment. Our title block is in the border because there are cases where a project is replicated outside of ProjectWise. In that case, the border is referenced to create a single point of update. The second reason is that the sheet files, even in ProjectWise, do not have to be burdened with project tag sets and their definition. For sheet tags, there is no way around that burden.

We are using PW 10.00.03.140 on our rendition server with 10.00.03.116 Orchestration Framework. The CONNECTION Client is 10.0.16.9.
Note that our issue is not related to tags in reference files, all our tags and tag sets are in the master file.
Installed software on the iCS for PDF server* Rendition Engines - MicroStation V8i SS4 (08.11.09.929) - default / AECOsim CE 10.4.0.69* ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT - 10.00.03.140* ProjectWise Orchestration Framework CE - 10.00.03.116* ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer - 10.00.01.22* CONNECTION Client - 10.00.15.12 * We downgraded from 10.00.16.09 at the request of Bentley (did not resolve the issue)Steps to reproduce* Install software above* Select a DGN that has TB information (tag & tag sets) in the master file
* Open the file for edit with V8i and verify the attributes update correctly (free the file when finished)* Verify these attributes inside the DGN have no value (blank)* Fill out the PW environment metadata for this file* Associate this file with MicroStation V8i in PW* Rendition the file with MicroStation V8i and note the attributes are not transferred to the PDF* Associate this same file with MicroStation CE in PW* Rendition the file with MicroStation CE and note the attributes are transferred to the PDFWe cannot rendition with MicroStation CE due to other issues (see SR 7000958309, 7000956998, 7000956435)
Upgrading to ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer 10.00.01.40 fixed the issue.
where did you get InterPlot Organizer 10.00.01.40? In the downloads the latest i see is 01.22.
Kevin, it is a priority build, yet to be released commercially.
