I have teams in two offices working a project. The project disappeared from ProjectWise Explorer. I could use some help.
If someone logged in as Administrator, or whatever you setup the default administrator to be, can they see the project? It could be permissions. If someone with that account can not see the project, then it was deleted. If it was deleted, you would need to retrieve a backup of the database onto a different datasource. From there the administrator would have to look up the storage area and find where the files needed to be restored to. Once the project is working without security being applied, you can export the project, then import it in to the new system using Export/Import adding the attribution to the spread sheet. Apply security once it is back in. I hope it is just permissions, that is a lot of work.
I am one of the admins so it is not a permissions issue. One of other admins reported the issue from another office. Our deleted files are sent to a delete folder but only three files show as being deleted yesterday when the project disappeared. Staff was working the project in one office. I was adding a user in another office. I noticed no users on the Access Control tab of the project when I was adding the new user. I thought this was odd at the time but at least the project was still there. Five minutes later the project disappeared. None of this may be relevant but I'm throwing everything out there that I can. I have reached out to other resources outside of Bentley as well but yours is my first response. Is there documentation on the recovery process you described?
Turn off access control for your administrator account and see if the project is still there. If not, review the audit trail records to see if you can determine the cause.
Thanks. Nice axe by the way. Is that a PRS?
Forgive me for being a dumba$$ Brian but I will need more specific instructions.
