Is there a way of batch printing AutoCAD files in ProjectWise? I've seen discussions on batch printing MicroStation files but not AutoCAD files.
There is a product offered by Bentley called ProjectWise InterPlot that can batch plot DGN, DGN, PDF, Raster, DOC and XLS files. InterPlot's client product, ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer, is enabled by a ProjectWise Passport, so you should already have these licenses. If you are going straight to PDF, then you are good to go. If you want to plot to paper, you need the server product called ProjectWise InterPlot Server.
Also, MicroStation V8i has a feature called Print Organizer which can batch print both DGN and DWG files. Older versions of MicroStation have a similar feature called Batch Print.
Printing to PDF is mostly what we're after. So when I go to the Bentley Select Server, should I download ProjectWise InterPlot and/or ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer?
You should download ProjectWise InterPlot Organzier.
After installing, run ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer from ProjectWise InterPlot Utilities. You will get a Welcome dialog, select "create a new plot set from files you select" and add the DWG files you want to plot. You can selelct the "Manually specified options" to go ahead and choose the print area, form size, scale, etc. or you can wait to do that after the files have been added by selecting the files and choosing "properties". If you have multiple areas that you need to plot in your design file and need to search for these shapes as plot areas you will need to specify that area as you bring the files in via the Manually specified options.
You should check out the Help > Tutorial > Plotting AutoCAD Data for more information. There is also a Help > Help Topics for more deatiled information.
