dmsconv.exe

We are currently trying to upgrade our ProjectWise integration server  from SS2 to SS3 and encountering a problem when we try to run the dmsconv.exe command.  Can someone please provide guidance on how to do this properly?  what we are doing at the moment is from

C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProjectWise\bin, we run

dmsconv –d datasourcename –u SQLserverusername.password –ctr –nomime

But nothing happens.  What user should we put in the SQLserverusername.password field - should this be the same one listed in the dmskrnl.cfg as DBUserName and DBUserPassword or is this a different user altogether?

Thanks,

Suzette

  • I've only done this in a test environment and it worked there.  (I'm planning the production upgrade for this coming weekend.)  From what I can see here is that your syntax maybe a little different than what is documented in the Implementation Guide on page 19-14.  It uses the following syntax:

    Dmsconv –d odbc.datasource –u odbc.username –p password –nomine -ctr

Note that in the Implementation Guide the –ctr option is not documented.  If you should learn of anything different please share.

    Hope this helps,
