We are currently trying to upgrade our ProjectWise integration server from SS2 to SS3 and encountering a problem when we try to run the dmsconv.exe command. Can someone please provide guidance on how to do this properly? what we are doing at the moment is from
C:\Program Files\Bentley\ProjectWise\bin, we run
dmsconv –d datasourcename –u SQLserverusername.password –ctr –nomime
But nothing happens. What user should we put in the SQLserverusername.password field - should this be the same one listed in the dmskrnl.cfg as DBUserName and DBUserPassword or is this a different user altogether?
I've only done this in a test environment and it worked there. (I'm planning the production upgrade for this coming weekend.) From what I can see here is that your syntax maybe a little different than what is documented in the Implementation Guide on page 19-14. It uses the following syntax:
Dmsconv –d odbc.datasource –u odbc.username –p password –nomine -ctr
Note that in the Implementation Guide the –ctr option is not documented. If you should learn of anything different please share.
Hope this helps,
Thanks Frank, it seems that we are usign the syntax from the SS2 implementation guide. We will do the uprade later this week and I hope it goes smoothly.
