Solution:
The creation of 8.3 file names and directories for all long file names and directories was disabled to improve the file system performance on the Windows 7 64 bit computer.
ProjectWise InterPlot requires the presentation of 8.3 file names and directories in particular for the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\. You can determine whether the presentation of the 8.3 file names and directories is enabled or disabled using the command dir /x.
The correct display (8.3 enable) should look like this
Since enabling the 8.3 file names and directories, as described in the Microsoft article…
How to disable (enable) 8.3 file name creation on NTFS partitions

…impact only on newly created file names and directories we have to use the following solution for ProjectWise InterPlot …
C:\Program Files (x86)> mklink /d c:\interplot “c:\program files (x86)\common files\interplot”
To check if the symbolic link is correct, use the command
C:\dir i*
If the symbolic link is not working, you can remove the link using the command
C:\>rd interplot
The InterPlot Path must be changed in the registry under the following Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE – Software – Wow6432Node – Intergraph – IPLOT Provider – CurrentVersion
Change PathName from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InterPlot\IPLOT
to
C:\Interplot\IPLOT
A reboot is not required. Now you can create PDF files using the ProjectWise InterPlot Organizer
