User attempting to submit an interactive DCS/iCS for PDF job via PW Explorer, (right click Create Rendition) but the following error appears:
“Error calling the rendition web service.”-GenerateRenditions: System.Data.OleDb.leDbException: Login failed for user xxxxx at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal..ctor(OleDbConnectionStringconstr, OleDbConnection connection) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection.Factory.CreateConnection(DbConnectionOptions option, Object poolGrouProvidernfo, DbConnectionPool pool,DbConnection owningObject)
Creating an automated rendition job in DCS Administrator works.
In IIS under Application Pools, highlight RenditionServiceAppPool, select Advanced Settings and set the “Identity” value under “Process Model” to a user that has access to the database.
Basically, when an interactive job is run from PWE, the web service is used to create this job. The web service makes a call to the OF database and has to run as a service. The default identify on the application pool is LocalSystem. I believe if the OF database were local to the DCS/OF server, it would work… but it’s not typical to have the OF database on the DCS/OF server, usually the database server is a separate machine.
The identity user needs access to the OF database. You can try setting NetworkService which should have access by default, but if the user has restricted access to the OF database, you may have to specify a domain account that does have access (Custom account).
