      Hi,

Bentley View is able to search for text elements in opened model. Is it what you mean by "keyword"?

Independently from Bentley View also Bentley IDgFilter is available, which allows to integrate indexing of DGN files content into Windows Search tool.

It's not clear what do you mean by "feature type". Can you provide some example?

In general any data attached to elements (user data linkages etc.) are black box for Bentley View, because they are binary objects created usually by 3rd party applications.

When data are stored using EC technology (based on EC Schema and EC Classes definition, EC data are attached to elements), Bentley View is able to display the data and I guess also to search.

      With regards,

I am referring to a search function, example in a search for a name of customer. Unlike Bentley Open Utilities Designer, I could search for a name of a customer which I couldn't verify if Bentley view is capable to so.

As I mentioned already, Bentley searching functionality depends on data storage format. It means for two design files, one can be searched easily (because data is stored as text or EC data) and the second will be more like black box, because data is stored in application specific binary format.

I don't know how Open Utilities Designer works, so I have no idea how data is stored and consequnetly how they can be searched. In my opinion you should try to ask Open Utilities Designer product forum (Geospatial Desktop?) whther somebody has some experience with using Bentley View together with OUD data.

But you should be aware Bentley View is general product targeted more to drafts review and basic 3D data sharing, while OUD is industry specific geo product.
