    Navigator Workspace Interfaces

    Marcus Ingle
Marcus Ingle over 14 years ago

What controls which interface Navigator loads at startup?  My problem is regardless of which "user" I select from the Microstation Manager Navigator always reads the viewonly interface settings.

To get redline to work I have to copy and rename the redline interface files and place them in the viewonly folder.

I could not find a user variable that controls where Navigator looks for the interface.  Any help would be appreciated.

It was a license issue. Thanks

I suppose I had been running in the 30 day grace period in which everything was working properly. Once that expired the redline feature would no longer work.

I connected to the select license server and activated my Navigator and it is now working properly. I am able to view and redline.

      Todd,

The control over whether you are in redline vs. view only is controlled by the interface option on the same manager dialog where user is located.  there are 3 options:

      1. viewonly - this will open the file you selected as view only
      2. redline - this will create a RDL file for storage of markups and annotations.  the selected file is referenced to the RDL
      3. default - this opens the selected file with write access

If you are unable to change this option it could be from the User option being set to viewonly.  Just set the option to something else and then you should be fine.  Another reason could be because you do not have a valid license in which case Navigator only works in viewonly mode.  If that is the case please with your administrator to validate you have a working license.

      hope that helps

      Joe Granville
