    Navigator, Redlining AutoCAD Paperspace Views

    Marcus Ingle

    I am trying to use Navigator (08.09.05.70) to redline a AutoCAD file (Ver. 2007/2008) that contains multiple Paperspace views. However, when Navigator attaches the original AutoCAD file as a reference it attaches modelspace.

    When I try to modify the attachment Navigator only displays "model" in the model dropdown list, not the Paperspace views.

    Can Navigator redline AutoCAD Paperspace Views?

      Todd,

      I believe the issue here is that you cannot reference a PAPERSPACE model in a AutoCAD\DWG.  And because the redline is referencing the original source DWG there is no way to reference in the Paperspace model.  A solution would be to create your redline files as DGNs:

      So edit your .ucf or .pcf file using a text editor and add this line to it:

      DWG_MARKUP=V8DGN

      That will tell Navigator to create the RDL file in DGN format.

      Then when In your new DGN format RDL file you can use the File>Models dialog to simply switch between the 3D design models (ModelSpace) and the 2D sheet models (Paperspace) that you want to markup\review.

      Hope this helps,

      ~Paul
