Microstation 2023 - Windows Freezes when panning and zooming on the application

    Good afternoon Forum!

On Microstation 2023, there is a recurring issue when I simply pan or zoom for a bit on the dgn file and all of the sudden the PC freezes on me.  So much that I have to do a force restart.  The dgn's I work with are in ProjectWise.

My workstation is a HP Zbook Firefly with an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz and.30 GHz Processor and 32GB of RAM.  However, the integrated graphics card is an Intel Iris Xe.  No NVIDIA card available on this unit.  In Microstation, I made sure to turn off anti-alias Lines and Texts on the Preferences-View Options to see if that works but the issue persists.

What's your suggestion?  Is it a graphics card issue or a setting in Microstation that I'm not aware of?

    Appreciate your kind feedback!

      Hi Gustavo,

      Kindly Answer these FAQs:

      1)  When did this problem start occurring?

      2)  What are the recent changes made in environment?

      3)  Is it file specific?

For a test can you Check out a file to local drive and try to open in Plain MicroStation.

Let us know if you get any error messages.

       4) What is your ProjectWise version?

Please check the ProjectWise Compability Tool to check if you have certified versions installed.

It might probably be useful to move this post to the ProjectWise forum. To move existing discussion to another forum, use More > Move tool, available under your original post. Please, do not create new question to do not duplicated the same topics in different forums.

      Hi Zeno

      1) Since last week and the problem has been getting progressively worse

      2) I work with TXDOT Workspace and changed the config file to locate the TXDOT Workspace files in the C: Drive

      3) Not really.  Happens with any file nowadays.

      4) Tried working locally instead of ProjectWise, but the issue persists.

      5) PW Version 10.00.03.453.  Should be perfectly compatible with the Microstation that I have which is Version 23.00.00.108

I'm going to perform a Repair Install on the Applications to see if the panning/zooming functionality can go back to normal.  I'll keep you posted on the results.

      Appreciate your kind feedback.

Hi Mark. No unfortunately the issue persists outside of ProjectWise as well.  May be an internal issue with Microstation.  I'll try to perform a Repair Installation to see if that might fix the issue.  I'll let you know about this. Thanks

      Hi Gustavo,

thank you for providing this information.

It may be worth try to open a file locally stored with no workspace/workset assigned.

If the issue still present please raise a new Support Case and provide dataset/steps to reproduce for investigation.

Please also post Case# when done.

      Thanks for your collaboration.
