    Re-enable Disabled User Account

    PW 08.11.11.574

User accounts disabled in AD do not re-enable in PW when re-enabled in AD. If I manually re-enable the account. It disables on the next sync. If I delete the account. It shows up enabled on the next sync.

We sync AD groups not users. User gets disabled in AD when on long term leave or when they leave the company. If they come back same account is re-enabled in AD but not in PW.  Seems to also occur when user is moved from one sync group to another.

Is there something that can be done about this? I don’t like deleting the account and losing the Audit Trail

Hi Neil, Try switching the user to a Logical user, hit apply, then switch back to Windows User Sync. After doing that does it still stay disabled after USS runs?

Performing the actions Marty suggested makes ProjectWise re synchronize the ProjectWise stored SID with the Windows SID so that ProjectWise knows they are the same account again. ProjectWise does not know that the AD account is the same as the one in PW but PW cant create a new one because the name exists in PW.

Thank you for these responses. Next time this comes up, I will try that process.

this came up twice this morning. changing user to logical then switching back to windows sync cannot be done. switch back to win sync brings dialog that demands user ID and domain which already exist!!. re-entering the same information results in "failed to modify user, unique constraint violated"

Neil, if you change it to Windows account - run the user sync and switch back to Windows sync, again run the service that may do it.
