After doing some manual debugging, I found out that some paths to some of the Processors in OFA was wrong.
It looked like the database table has been imported from the production servers database to the test servers database.
In some of the records in the table the servename was the name of the production server and not the testserver.
I cleaned this up and now the on-demand rendition job is run as soon as it is created on the server.

The lesson learned here is: never copy database table across databases but create them through the installation kit.

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

Hi,

You can increase the logging by updating OrchFwrkLogging.config file on your server in this directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\OrchestrationFramework. Find attached file.communities.bentley.com/.../OrchFwrkLogging.zip

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

Hi Arturas,
I have now tried to restart the OF service and the integration server itself, but this had made no different.
Can you tell me how to increase the logging on the OF, so I can get more info?

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

The job should always start automatically when submitting from PW Explorer. I think you should be looking in initial problem because I don't think there is some way to ensure that those jobs run automatically.
In first place I would try restarting OF service. If that doesn't make any difference then restart the server. If the issue will still occur then need to increase OF logging and see if there is more information on the issue.

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

Hi Arturas
The server version is: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Version 6.1 (build 7601).

After doing some more investigation, I have discovered that if I manually submit the job in OFA anyway (even if the source is a saved search that do not exists anymore) there is actually created a pdf of the dgn submitted. Strange, but it works, and I can live with that. I checked the database to se what was written in the table dbo.rendscvJobInputSet and there was the right URL to the dgn file I created the rendition for.

The last problem I have with this ad hoc rendition is that the job isn't starting automatically, and since it have the date and time as its name, I cannot schedule the job.
How do I ensure that the job actually runs on the OF server?

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

Hi Finn,

Could you also check the exact version of OS (Windows Server 2008 SP2, or Windows Server 2008 R2, etc..) on the server where PW iCS jobs are running?

RE: ICS Ad Hoc Rendition Job

Have you tried to create job from PW Explorer a couple of times? do you see the same amount of jobs in OFA with the same 'saved search' criteria then?

And if you delete all those jobs from OFA it reappears the next time you start the job from PW Explorer? If so, have you tried restarting OF service. Maybe some job is stuck (or cached somehow) and everytime you run the job it takes only the first one from the queue, which is the one that stuck.

No, that is not the problem.

I see the job created through PW Explorer in OFA and it is named something like: 2014-12-04 08:29:42 (pwadmin) but the content of the Input Files tab is not the file I selected in PW Explorer and did the "Create Rendition" on, instead it show a saved search. The Input File tab should have listed the path to my dgn file but is show the saved search: Documents for Review. witch at one time have existed on the system, but was deleted a long time ago.

I have a scheduled job running I OFA and this is working fine. This job runs a saved search to find all approved documents in a specific folder and creates pdf's of these documents. What I want Is the same functionality run manually by the users on a single file, so they don't have to wait for the scheduled job to run (runs at night).

I think that you see the job in OFA that has been created manually in OFA, but not the job that you've created from PW Explorer. And that is why you think that your input file was changed to saved search. Could you tell me what is the name of the job that you see in OFA ? the jobs created from PW Explorer are named with the date and user name in brackets e.g. 2014-12-03 17:05:05 (admin)
