ProjectWise V8i SS3/4 - User Synchronize of Windows AD Groups

When ProjectWise V8i SS3/4 Server - User Synch Services is set up and later  resynches Windows AD Groups ... does it use the :

    - Fully Qualified Domain Name ( FQDN) for those objects or

    - Canonical name

    for example

    FQDN:   CN=Agency ProjectWise Administrators,OU=Groups,OU=InfTech Svcs,OU=Emp and Corp Services Division,DC=ad,DC= agency,DC=state,DC=mn,DC=us

    Or just...

    CN:         CN=Agency ProjectWise Administrators

     Thanks....

      Greg:

User sync uses FQDN for the objects.  Did you have issues with the sync service or just questions?  For any problems please see

Under out SS3 system I did a test,
      Set up:
Created an AD\FQDN-TEST in a specific OU. Added 1 member. Synched into PWise. Created Access Control List = ACL-FQDN & made AD\FQDN-TEST a member. Used ACL to assign security on new folder.

Test 1 : added docs to folder, edited , saved under user-member of FQDN-TEST.

Moved AD\FQDN-TEST to new OU in same domain.
Added 1 new member to AD\FQDN-TEST
forced resynch of AD groups & users

Test 2. added docs to folder, edited, saved under user-member account of FQDN-TEST.

Will test again in SS4 after install... but..

if ProjectWise is seeking AD groups based on FQDN ... is it also holding the SID so that when OU moves occur - within a single domain - it can still find the object .. in this case a group. Would that be reliable "working as designed" ?
