Project Wise with AutoCAD, using Documents to represent paper space layouts

    Hello,

We use paper space layouts in AutoCAD to represent the printed drawings.

For example, a single DWG could contain 20 print drawing layouts, each having its own title block.

So, I guess we would need a Project Wise Document per paper space layout.

In this example, the DWG needs 21 Project Wise Documents, one for the DWG and 20 for the paper space layouts - environment attributes to be passed to each paper space layout.

From what I know, the Project Wise integration does not provide for this. Each DWG is a single PW Document, connecting the PW attributes with a single title block in the DWG. Am I correct?

      Not exactly.
What you are after is the long awaited functionality of PW to be able to support multi-tabbed drawing files. There is a way to do this, but so far Bentley has not delivered it as standard functionality.

A few years ago I set this up using a bit of code and multiple attribute sheets (one per synchronized title block). The process worked well even tho it was a bit clunky in areas.
This was presented and offered to Bentley and that's as far as it went.

Aside from that, I am not aware of any other way to have full titleblock integration of a multi-tabbed drawing in PW.

Thx for the replies, they confirmed my understanding of what is and is not available right now.
Not all companies use sheet sets, but it would be superb if Project Wise could provide a Document per Sheet (fully supported in the integration).
I am busy doing the same development Scott described, to solve the problem.
Luckily, Dean rescues me when I am not sure how to use items in the SDK.
      Thanks again,
      Kevin.
