    Microstation - Projectwise Question

    Hello there

I have a question relating to drawings associated to a model seed file on Projectwise.

I have multiple drawings set up referencing a model seed file on projectwise. I am updating the seed file and would like to know the best way to update all the drawings with out having to open each one and updating the model file reference.

At the moment the drawings do not update automatically, I have to open each, detach the reference and then re-attache. Is there an easier way?

Sorry if this is basic stuff, I am new to these systems.

    Cheers

Hello Scott. I have found a short term solution to this by detaching and re-attaching the reference to the model file. Now when I update the model the drawing reference automatically updates.

My college in Glasgow originally set up the references (I am based in London) so my only concern now is when he tries to do the same he may experience the same issue with connectivity to the model.

This is just a guess but detaching and re-attaching seems to have worked short term and fix the issue locally.

Keep me updated with progress your end :)

Thank you Stuart. This sounds like the same issue we are seeing as well, and have also reported it. Seems like we should combine these tickets so we both can benefit from any solution that may be found.

      Hello there

I made reference to the seed file in my original question, I actually mean the Model file reference :)

What I am doing is basically updating our model file on projectwise that has a large number of drawings referencing it. When I update the model file the associated drawings are supposed to update, I have tried updating the server copy and refreshing the drawing files individually but it seems the only way to actually get the reference to update is to detach and re-attached the model reference in each drawing which is very time consuming.

Probably a simple solution, I am trying to sort this out with Bentley and hoe to speak to some one today.

Can you elaborate on what isn't updating exactly?
The reason I ask is I have a very similar situation here, and have been after Bentley for this. They are testing, but it is not consistent so it is very hard to track.
