    Hi,

I tried to read and understand the implementation guide but it got me confused. If I want to install PW web server, what would be the setup if my projectwise SS4 is not part of a domain and I do not have sharepoint server as well? can i install PW web server and integration server on the same machine? is it possible not to use single sign on?

    thanks in advanced.

      Hi JessieMCS,

If this is going to be a production site then I would advise against installing it on your integration server. It is best practice to install the WebServer on a separate server where IIS exists. If the setup is not apart of the domain then your external users will have a difficult time getting to the site (if production)

Now if this is a test environment then it's just the matter of installing to a Server with IIS and deploying the site.

WebServer WebParts - is a lite version of ProjectWise (What the web will not do for you; good read to know what it can and can't do) http://communities.bentley.com/other/old_site_member_blogs/bentley_employees/b/jo_wests_blog/archive/2009/05/28/what-the-web-won-t-do-for-you

WebServer WebParts Web View - is read-only so only downloading files

SSO - Single Sign on is optional It allows the user who's logged in to a machine with there domain account to automatically login to ProjectWise via web or ProjectWise Explorer. I you have users that are domain or logical users in ProjectWise they can login by typing there UserID and Password just fine.

The Implementation guide outlines all of this very clearly. There is a lot to it but very clearly listed for a successful install.

      Thanks,

      Ranveer

      Hi Ranveer,

what if I am going to setup a logical accounts for external users? is still have problem getting into the site?

What if my existing projectwise is not in the domain then I will decide to put the existing projectwise into the domain environment later on. can it be done without touching the projectwise?

      Thanks,
      Jessie

logical accounts can be used for external and internal users.
if your existing server is not on the domain and you do put it on the domain (WebServer) you just have to update IIS siting binding so it reflects the change.
