Is it possible to assign a PW Project property to a MicroStation workspace variable?

Is it possible to assign a PW Project property to a MicroStation workspace variable?

We would like to produce a dymanic workspace setup which adapts the workspaces loaded based upon values set in a PW project property.

If tried a 'string' assignment syntax of  $(PROJECT#PROJECT_Code_<property name>) but it does not work.
