Deliverables Management

We are looking at Deliverables Management in a couple of our business areas.

One is process where we receive large numbers of PFD documents that we need to comment / approve / reject.

DM seems suited to this and we are doing some initial testing in conjunction with Bentley

One detail i need to bottom out is the mechanism for capturing comments on the documents, as an example a typical text based document might have a series of comments on it, 10 - 20 is not uncommon and each is potentially onerous.

As such it has been asked if each comment can be an individual, a separate record of some sort.

Appreciate this is vague but anyone using DM in this area I'd be interested in thoughts

Hi Rob, can you explain more about what you are looking for? Is there something in the comments field that isn’t working exactly? Each recipient is able to enter a comment per document, I am not aware of a specific limit into what can be entered here, but it will allow for a large amount of text. If it will be easier, we can take this off line and I can give you a call.

Apologies for the lack of response, not enough hours in the day. We are reviewing our background processes in this area, which is a big project... :-) I'll post a summary of our findings as soon as we can

I think I'm still confused as to the core purpose of DM. Is it a tool for distributing PW information for approval, is it for 3rd parties not involved in a PW environment to submit information into PW and at that point CAN PW them manage them internally including a review process.

I need to map out or process as above.
