    Hi All

I there a way to prevent external user to access the saves searches? OR best to allow him to see only specific saved searches?

      Hi Luc

Off the top of my head I do not think so, the best I can suggest is to deny access to the content returned by the search.

the problem is that anything that is done in a saved search can also be done in a regular search so you would have to have access controls for every possible search.

Searches won't return results for documents that users don't have permission to access. If you need to make sure certain documents won't appear in search results then you need to set document permissions appropriately.

The simplest search to do is go to right-click the Documents folder, select Advanced Search, click Search Form, then just click OK. That returns every document in the datasource that the user has access to. If you aren't protecting against this search then your documents aren't secure.

      Good info...

but reading back what i have write.........

By external users I mean those who use the web client. I can revisit this but from memory when I post this thread....... I was able to get results that give access to documents a user should not be able to view.

      Luc,

The ProjectWise Web Server (and web client) is designed to use the same access control mechanisms as ProjectWise Explorer. So users should not see anything different in Web client than they do in the ProjectWise Explorer client(or anywhere else for that matter). Please double check and certainly get in touch with Support if you find a case where they are not the same.

      HTH,
      John
