Projectwise DGN "File Not Found" when trying to Microstation Reference attach

    Hi all,

We have been getting "file not found" messages when trying to attach DGNs in our Microstation (and MX / Inroads) sessions on multiple machines working out of different offices using Projectwise CONNECT.

All is well selecting the reference, but when we progress to attach the file the dialog disappears and there is a "File Not Found" message on the status bar. I can go directly into the file that couldn't be attached and it opens fine with no issues.

Interestingly, if I Save As the current DGN into the same PW folder as the desired reference DGN it attaches perfectly. I have tried moving the DGN locations in PW in case it was a excessively long path issue but this has no effect. I have also tried purging my local copies, deleting my bms folder, etc. and there is no change.

There was a suggestion the server was busy or it was a network issue, but we are having this issue any time of the day and connected to different networks and internet access points. This doesn't happen for all files but many in certain folders and there is a rare occasion there are files that attach fine.

Note: this happens in locations with and without a caching server for Projectwise

Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be appreciated.

Mark, I have seen this message when the User did not have access\permissions to the Storage Folder in Windows Explorer. Check that All User have access to the dms folder and it's parent folders. I think this happens when a User copied over the PW Storage area to a different server. Best to put in a service request if this does not yield a break through in the issue.

      This is a test
