PW speed

I’m looking for suggestions on using ProjectWise to collaborate with the rest of the team. Our internet speed causes us to take 15+ minutes to open a dgn file, so we are loosing time just waiting. We cannot increase the internet speed so I’m attempting to come up with a solution. What we are doing at the moment is creating our files locally (on our server) and moving them to PW. To edit a file we check out the file, edit it on our server, copy the revised file to the C:\PW folder then check back in. What we have found is the initial setup causes us to have to re-path the references, which takes a significant time opening 50+ files. After the setup our process works well. Is there a solution I’m missing that could make this go quicker?

do you have cache servers in your remote locations?

What do you have the user settings Leave local copy on check in, Leave local copy on free, Use up to date local copy on check out and use up to date local copy on copy out set to? We set as below and they help minimize unnecessary network traffic:

Leave local copy on check in: On

Leave local copy on free: On

Use up to date local copy on check out: Off

use up to date local copy on copy out: On

I'm uncertain about the cache servers. We are not the prime/host of PW. If this is something we can set Can you provide more information?

As for the user settings mine are as follows:

Leave local copy on check in: ON

Leave local copy on free: ON

Use up to date local copy on check out: ON

Use up to date local copy on copy out: ON
