MMC could not create the snap-in Error

    Hello good ProjectWise Community,

I just started to go deeper in PW, and I have this error when I isntalled ProjectWise Administrator on windows server 2008 r2,

When I start PW Admin the interface tells me that "MMC could not create the snap-in" and it's pretty much useless to be honest.

I'm using PWAdmin versión 100003140 and PW Integration Server version 100003140

I'm attaching a picture so you can check it out.

    Regards

I have got rid of the issue by fixing the Registry.

I just finished a series of tests and found out I missed the part in your post to to uninstall PW Explorer as well.  So I just did that and installed it with the version that matched PWAdmin.  So it's working. Thank you!  I broke it when I installed the PW Explorer upgrade.  So evidently if they are installed on the same box the versions need to match.  Thanks for the help.

      Hi Skeller -

Are you installing PW Admin module on the DI Server or on an Admin box?

What is the version of ProjectWise Integration Server & Explorer?

I'm having this problem also.  I've tried the fixes here as well as deleting the pwadmin2.msc file and uninstalling/reinstalling PWA with a local Admin account.  Also some microsoft fixes which mentioned repairing .net.  I do not think MMC is being blocked since it runs for other programs and allows me to add snapins.  I've logged a service ticket a week ago and other than a link to a 2013 post with the fixes above I have not had a reply from Bentley even though I've requested an update twice.  Any new information would be appreciated.  I am using the most recent version of PWA 10.00.03.280

As suggested by Stephen - Try renaming pwadmin2 to pwadmin3 under - C:\Program File (x86\) Bentley\\ProjectWise\Bin & try launching ProjectWise Administrator again

Incase that doesn't work - uninstall ProjectWise Administrator & Explore (if on the same machine) & rename the "bin" folder under C:\Program File(x86)\Bentley\ProjectWise - Reboot the machine

Install ProjectWise Administrator - then Explorer - This should ideally fixed the issue

Incase it doesn't work then please feel free to raise a Service Request.
