    System Requirements for PW V8i

After spending 20 minutes searching this and the Bentley site for system reuirements for PW V8i, I am asking here. I searched "ProjectWise requirements" "ProjectWise System requirements" and found nothing. On the Docs site, the only readme says that the readme installs with the product. Should it be hard to find out what server specs you need if you want to buy a Bentley Product?

If you go to the online ProjectWise (Integration Server?) ReadMe, is that what you are looking for?

That is perfect. What search parameters did you use? Thanks

Well... truth be known, I know that MicroStation and ProjectWise product ReadMes (among others) are "online" on our ftp://ftp.bentley.com/pub/help/ site. The link to that (at least for this release of ProjectWise Integration Server) has been updated in the description of the product download on SELECTservices Center.

      Steve,

Good to see you still out there trying to "Fix" Bentley. I look here for information:
      http://communities.bentley.com/Products/ProjectWise/w/ProjectWise__Wiki/projectwise-technotes-and-faqs.aspx

As usual the plotting team and publishing team have better information then the Pwise team. I found the XM requirements here http://communities.bentley.com/Products/MicroStation/MicroStation_V8_XM_Edition/w/MicroStation_V8_XM_Edition__Wiki/xm-edition-requirements.aspx

But I must admit that for some reason they have a lot of info about "Publisher" and very little about ProjectWise Integration server, but from a hardware stand point I would go with the "bigger/faster the better". Stay away from a 64bit OS on the indexing server and publishing servers, because those parts are not certified on 64bit. http://communities.bentley.com/Products/ProjectWise/w/ProjectWise__Wiki/projectwise-v08.09.04.xx-modules-_2D00_-supported-operating-systems.aspx

The best system layouts I have seen are to break the system a part on separate hardware, but keep in mind the performance lag will be the database, because of the non relational tables. Hope this is what you were looking for

      Ray,

You know I live by that, "if it's not broke, don't fix it" philosophy but, well, you do the math. Anyway, We have things installed and barring any problems, we will go into production soon. Just for the Transportation Data group for the State maps but it's a start. I plan to blog about it and triumphs or failures we have. Should be fun. I think we started this in 1999(?) when ProjectWise and ProjectBank were first released. Back when Kornblith was in the trenches. You remember, we paid a lot of money for it and got a negative ROI. Seems just like yesterday. Good to hear from you and thanks for the information.

      Steve
