Need help Connecting ProjectWise ver.3.140 to Trimble Business Center ver.5.0

Can anyone provide a workflow for connecting ProjectWise to Trimble Business Center?  I've opened Business Center, navigated to File/Options/External Services - Profiles and filled in the Server Address, my Username and Password, the Web Service Gateway IIS Virtual Directory name and the Web Service Gateway web API version (v2.5).  Everything is entered correctly and I even had a Bentley rep review it and agreed it was fine.  However, when I click on Test Settings I receive the following error message.

Does anyone know what the issue might be?  Bentley says it's a Trimble problem and to contact them.  Has anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?

Thanks for your time and input,

    Chris Booth

      Hi Chris Booth,

The error provided, gives two pieces of information to help understand the what and where of the problem.

      1. "The Web Services Gateway web API version is incorrect."  This first error/message appears to be the most telling.  When a client app (as configured) tries to connect to the WSG server via URI (protocol://servername/version/path/page), the version number (of the client) is not matching up with the current running version number (of the WSG server).  If you ask the WSG server admin what (API) version(s) of WSG are available on the server pointed to, you should be able to configure the (API) Version field in your Trimble client app. Once saved, tested and properly authenticated, the problem should then be resolved.

      2. HTTP Error 404 (Not Found - Server or Page). This indicates: a.) the server "by name" could not be found, OR, b.) the Page Name or URL is not 100% correct.

      HTH,
      Bob

I contacted Trimble's tech support regarding this issue and received the following response.

"According to the product team, there is a current known bug with the ProjectWise connection not working. We currently have it set to get fixed by the end of 2019.

      Best regards

      Lane

      Trimble Geospatial Support"

Looks like Bentley was correct that this issue is on the side of Trimble.  I guess the only way to know if it is fixed is to periodically try to connect again.

Hope this bit of information helps others that might try to make this connection.

      Hi Chris Booth,

Thank you for providing the update. Please feel free to either private message me or add my email (robert . hook @ bentley . com) the thread; if helpful or permissible; so I can try to help move this issue along on either side as best as possible.

      Thank you,
      Bob
