Has anyone seen (or continues to see / experience) " No database connection is active at the moment " error when printing from a ProjectWise-based Print Organizer Print Set (i.e. .pset and MicroStation Design Files are stored in a ProjectWise

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

Erika - These errors that we were seeing were the result of creating new .pset files. And oddly enough, the XML file - to which ProjectWise is reporting a "failed to write" error - DOES exist in the specified "local working directory" folder. Additionally, there are no permissions issues with these folders or files. The "no database connection is active" part of the error is a bit vague, but may imply that attempts to verify the applicable document/file information have failed (don't know why, though).

I really hope that the fix is not to open .psets in a newer version of a CONNECT Platform-based product (i.e. MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, etc.) and save. I fear that there could be backward compatibility issues with these .pset files, as we've seen in the past with SELECTseries 2 and SELECTseries 4.

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

I ran into this issue when my company changed it's ProjectWise server and I used the RebasePset utility to repath pset file to the new server. Microstation SS4 would not recognize the new server. So to resolve the issue I had to open the pset file in Microstation CONNECT and save. Then I was able to open the pset in Microstation SS4 and the error went away.

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

Thanks, Matt I appreciate the input!

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

Hello Ben,

I would suggest that you submit a Service Request for this one. When working with this issue (while working with my former employer), I had many a calls with the Technical Support Team to review. Unfortunately, there was no resolution (to my knowledge) prior to me leaving and joining my current employer. Since ProjectWise is in our sights, I have posted the question (of whether this issue has been resolved) to our Account Manager and a Business Development Manager (at Bentley). Hoping for some news on this soon.

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

I am another user having this same issue and would love to get some guidance on how to resolve this!

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

I have not had access to ProjectWise since August of 2019. So, I am unsure as to whether this has been resolved. But after speaking with several people at Bentley, I learned that this issue needs to be corrected by the MicroStation Platform Team, not the ProjectWise Team. Still no updates on this though.

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

Did you ever get this fixed?

RE: "No database connection is active at the moment" error

Good morning Matt!
