Error 32768 - Cannot Login to Datasource

End User is unable to connect to the datasource. I am sure the datasource has been configured correctly, and Prevent UDP has been checked in all appropriate areas.

We are using ProjectWise V9i and Windows 10 Professional.

for further debugging you'll need to look at the log file and see what it says. You may need to edit the pwc.log.xml file in the Projectwise folder and increase logging levels to see appropriate log messages.

Thank you for your response. Correct, it is V8i, not sure why I put 9. Is the Connect Edition a free upgrade from the V8i? I am not seeing those files available in our FTP server.

yes, it's free. you don't need to update the server side, connect client works with v8i servers. I see the download in Bentley's Fulfillment  Center under ProjectWise Explorer Client. Latest version is 10.00.03.262.

      https://select.bentley.com/FulfillmentCenter/

however your Bentley account needs permissions to be able to access it. Also you can try going to https://connect.bentley.com/ and seeing if the Software Downloads is enabled for you. If it is set the Brand to ProjectWise and apply, then look for ProjectWise Design Integration.

Thank you for that information. Our users here log in with a username and password and I am seeing that the ProjectWise Connect client needs an email account? I don't believe any of our users have ever created am account here. I created one in order to access the downloads but it appears that we need to be subscribed to some cloud service in order to see our projects? Wondering if this is accurate?

Additionally, my account does NOT have access to the Software Downloads.

you'll need to talk to your Bentley account manager. The Connection client will be used for licensing all bentley software in the near future, many products already are including the recently released MicroStation V8i SS10.

Currently to use ProjectWise you do not need to have Connection client installed, but you'll get occasionally get annoying warning about it. The connection client will require an account from Bentley to work.

Separate from the Connection client Bentley has moved ProjectWise to per user licensing. It depends on your contract but you may already be paying for cloud services as part of your license, to my knowledge getting an account from Bentley does not start this, you'll have to see what's in your contract.

We receive this software from MDOT usually, from a FTP site. At first you're telling me it's a program incompatibility issue, and that I need the Connection Client - now you're telling me it's not explicitly necessary. It seems like other municipalities are using this software on Windows 10. I just need the V8i client working, we don't necessarily NEED cloud services or anything supplemental. I find it difficult to imagine that this program is incompatible with Windows 10, given the instructions make mention of installation on Windows 10. Is there a tech support number available so that I may get this working?

Hi Matt, the last version of PW V8i was published in 2014. Windows 0 was introduced in 2015. The version name changed from V8i to CONNECT in 2015. ProjectWise V8i was never developed to run on the Windows 10 OS, only PW CONNECT Edition. There are many things with the CONNECT brand at Bentley, but for your purposes, you need a PW Explorer version that start with 10.xx. in order to run on Windows 10 OS. My recommendation is to go back to MDOT and ask them for the PW Explorer version that is certified to run on Windows 10.

I said you need the connect edition of projectwise, not the connection client. The connection client is a separate application from the explorer. It's installed when ProjectWise connect is installed but can be uninstalled separately (go to add/remove programs).

Bentley's recommended method for opening a support ticket is to go to https://connect.bentley.com login and click New Service Request
