ProjectWise Explorer No Auto-Sign On & Not Correctly Using the Win10 Auth: (Check Mark Gets Alt-Login ID)

I have a PW Explorer User who must manually login.

If he checks the Windows Authentication box when logging into PW Explorer, it logs him in under his Administration ID even though he is logged into Windows 10 under his normal (Non-admin) User ID.

Could someone please tell me how to correct his login problem?

And/or tell me how to set up an automatic login?  (It should end up with the user logged in under the same ID they log into Windows 10 with.)

    Our PW Explorer version: 10.00.03.167
    Our Windows version: 10

THANK YOU in advance for any help with this.
    Darren

      Hello Darren,

Please check if correct windows account has been configured in ProjectWise Administrator under Users node & account type has been set to Windows with correct Domain name.

Also check Single sign on enabled on datasource. Single sign on lets ProjectWise users automatically log in to datasources using the same account with which they are logged in to the computer. For a user to use single sign on, that user must already have a Windows domain account in datasource they are trying to log in to, and they must already be logged in to the computer as that user. Then by choosing Datasource > Log in in ProjectWise Explorer, the user will be automatically logged in to the selected datasource.

      Hope this helps.

If you are using the workflow rules engine in that datasource, a security vulnerability in the Rules Engine was identified. The vulnerability affects ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition clients, version 3.1 Refresh Update (10.00.03.167) or earlier. Bentley strongly encourages you to implement the following solution that resolves the vulnerability.

      Details and Potential Impact

While there is not external security threat, it has been determined that adding the Rules Engine super user and rollback user to the Administrator or Restricted Administrator group in ProjectWise Administrator (previously a requirement) presents a potential security risk, potentially allowing access to data that the user should not have access to.

      Recommended Course of Action

A Rules Engine client update is now available and required for all ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition clients, version 3.1 Refresh Update (10.00.03.167) or earlier. The Rules Engine client update can be downloaded from Software Downloads .

Note: This update is not needed for users running ProjectWise Explorer CONNECT Edition Update 3.2 or later

Please test this update fully before deploying it to your users.

I found that it prevented the workflow from working correctly when installed and cannot just be un-installed, it requires a complete removal of ProjectWise Client, manual removal of the DLL's and a re-install to get it back to it's original state.

Note: there is also no recommended course of action for the Rollback or Super User group membership if they are removed from the Admin group.
