Hello,
I have got the message "[ 58132 ] Error creating link data. Code is already in use" importing documents using the Excel Import Tool.
We have to import the same documents, once in a part "Project" and the other in "Building Information".
What is very weird is that for the Project, all my documents were imported nicely but for the second, it went wrong and nothing changes except Document file name/Name.
What differs is that in the Document file name/Name, the Project number is not used for the documents that will be imported in Building Information.
I have tried so change the Subject with simple words, different for each document and then it works, but I have to use those mentioned in the file.
ProjectWise Explorer V8i Series 4 Version 08.11.11.590
Can you please help on this?
I join the two excel files for investigation.
Thanks
Isabelle
Your import is likely pushing data into attribute(s) that are part of and/or the resulting document code value that are in conflict with existing document values that breaks whatever uniqueness rules have been set for the environment's document code definition. That's typically what "code in use" errors mean. Also, the document Name and document file name values must be unique within each folder, but those types of errors usually trigger a different error message.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your explanation, I have tried so many things that I don't know anymore where to investigate.
The documents are uploaded but some attributes are missing. I keep searching.
It seems that when changing a little the Subject of the document, it works: adding an underscore, delete a space between the text and a string...
Apparently, even in 2 different folders, the program refuses to have an identical document subject, even if the name of the file differs.
Hello, does anybody have an answer on how to fix this problem? It is very aleatory when it happens.
It seems that when I delete a part of the text in the Subject in Excel it works also when I type another word or many words...
