    Word and Excel templates

    Hi,

When creating a new file based on a word Template *.dotm or * dotx why is ProjectWise holding this extension it should changed to an *docx for example. Otherwise all documents are saved as templates and that's not what we would like to see.

I also tried of course to use *.docx as a template but than I've got stuck on the "create data" because it's referring to the date of creation of the template.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

      Using PW version.434

Where it goes wrong is that when I want to use create date/ time from a ProjestWise attribute it will take the date/ time when we first created the template *.docx file. and not when the new ProjectWise Document is created.

New file created from template (*.Docx) date is still 24-2-2020 instead of 4-3-2020?

Christiaan,  If you defined, then inserted a custom attribute into your Word template (Insert > Quick Parts > Field > Doc Property) and then mapped the value using the Attribute Exchange Rules for MSOffice in PW Admin, then you should be able to display the date the PW document was created.

      Regards,  David
